Our Story

My name is Jennifer Souza but you can call me Jen. I am the creator of the original, military uniform ornament ball. After 13 years in the legal field as a paralegal in both the public and private sectors, I ditched an unsatisfying career path. Shortly after, I opened my first Etsy shop called Pike’s Picks featuring home decor made from Driftwood. Fast forward a couple years and I married my soldier. My husband had been in the army for several years prior to our first duty station together at Fort Drum, New York. “Climb to Glory!” After a short time working at the base alterations shop, my craft inspirations changed and so did my shops name to Seaside Lake. In 2014 the army expired the ACU pattern and went to OCP fabric for it’s operational uniforms. Suddenly I found myself inundated with ACU’s. I didn’t want to give the uniforms to secondhand stores or throw them away so I created the military uniform ornament ball. After a year of private sales, the ornaments were added to my shop.
